The Kitty Air Purifier
500X the carbon of other purifiers
Secondary HEPA filter to 0.3 micron for allergies
Why does the Kitty Air filter work
We use Australian Activated Carbon which is made right here.
Eats up airborne Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's)
Introduction to Carbon
Material such as wood, coconut shells or coal that is activated by steam is first carbonised to create charcoal. The carbonisation is performed at a temperature at approximately 550 degC in an oxygen free atmosphere. This process drives off all of the volatile organic compounds and leaves behind the carbon and the minerals (ash).
Activation
Our Activated carbon is made from coconut shells and wood. A chemical activation follows. This produces an activated carbon with an extensive network of pores and an extremely high surface area (typical range is 300 to 2000 m2/g). The pores provide sites for the adsorption of chemical contaminants in gases (Air).
Impregnation
Impregnation is the process where activated carbon is treated in some way.
Without going into an in depth chemistry talk.... treated and untreated Activated Carbon each has an advantage in odour collection. We impregnate our own and use it as a 50/50 mix in the Kitty Air Carbon+ Enhanced Filter.

More expensive than Shoe box sized Purifiers that sit on a table.
Priced better than so many filters that have less than 1/500 of the Carbon... which is the stuff that actually does the 'work'.
Each Kitty Air filter has approximately enough carbon area (if extracted)
to cover 200 square kilometers.
